Borno State Police Command has reported the discovery of an unidentified male’s body near a transformer at Borno State University, Maiduguri, on Sunday.
This is contained in a statement by Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso.
ASP Daso said preliminary investigations suggest the deceased was electrocuted while attempting to vandalize electrical installations.
The body has been evacuated to a hospital with assistance from the Borno State Fire Service for medical procedures.
He said the police have launched a full investigation into the incident.
Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, psc, reiterated warnings against vandalism and sabotage, emphasizing their threat to public safety.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and urged residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities around public infrastructure to the nearest police station.
