Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Atletico Madrid are through to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after a night decided by missed chances and late goals.
At Anfield, PSG knocked Liverpool out 4–0 on aggregate after a 2–0 win on the night.
Liverpool had the pressure for long spells and enough openings to make it a different tie, but nothing went in. PSG stayed deep, stayed organised and waited. Ousmane Dembele did the damage late, scoring in the 72nd minute before adding a second in stoppage time to finish Liverpool’s European run.
For Liverpool, it is another night that will sting. Control in parts of the game, chances created, but no reward again when it mattered most in Europe.
In Madrid, Atletico knocked Barcelona out, going through 3–2 on aggregate despite a 2–1 defeat on the night.
Barcelona started fast, with Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres giving them early belief and pushing the tie towards a comeback.
Atletico did not panic. They stayed in their shape and slowed the game down when they needed to.
Ademola Lookman was part of that control, involved in key phases that helped Atlético ride out Barcelona’s pressure across both legs.
Eric García’s late red card ended Barcelona’s last push, and Atletico saw it out without fuss.
In the end, it was the same pattern in both ties. One team took their moments. The other did not.
