Putin mourns death of Iranian President Raisi

Russian President, Vladimir Putin has mourned the death of Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi

Recalled that President Ebrahim Raisi, aged 63, and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and two others died following a helicopter crash in the country’s mountainous province of East Azerbaijan.

President Putin in a condolence message on Monday, said: “Raisi made an invaluable contribution to Russian-Iranian relations.

He added that Raisi was an outstanding politician whose whole life was devoted to serving the Motherland.

” He rightfully enjoyed the high respect of his compatriots and considerable prestige abroad.

“As a true friend of Russia, he made an invaluable personal contribution to the development of good-neighborly relations between our countries, and made great efforts to bring them to the level of strategic partnership.” He said.
