Former Governor of Zamfara State and Distingushed Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, has warmly welcomed the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, into the fold of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the governor’s decision as a wise and timely step toward strengthening unity and accelerating development in Zamfara State.
In a statement released from his office, Senator Yari expressed deep satisfaction and optimism over Governor Lawal’s decision to join what he described as the largest and most formidable political party in Africa. According to him, the governor’s defection reflects a strong commitment to progressive leadership and collective responsibility in advancing the socioeconomic development of Zamfara State.
Senator Yari described Governor Dauda Lawal as a progressive, innovative, and result-oriented leader whose governance style and developmental strides have already begun transforming key sectors of the state. He noted that the governor’s decision to align with the APC will further consolidate ongoing efforts to deliver good governance, strengthen security, promote economic growth, and uplift the living standards of the people.
The former governor further commended the visionary leadership of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose inclusive governance style and reform-driven agenda continue to attract progressive-minded leaders across the country to the APC.
Senator Yari emphasized that the APC manifesto anchored on economic transformation, the fight against corruption, national security, and sustainable development, remains a compelling blueprint for national and state progress. He noted that Governor Lawal’s development initiatives in Zamfara resonate strongly with the ideals and aspirations of the party as well as the hopes of the good people of the state.
