Sokoto Governor Aliyu says banditry will soon become history

Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu has boldly declared that banditry will soon become history in the state, announcing fresh initiatives to ramp up the ongoing battle against the persistent security menace.

In a statement, while declaring open the 17th regular State Executive Council meeting (the final session for the year) in Sokoto, Governor Aliyu revealed new measures aimed at strengthening intelligence gathering and improving coordination with security agencies.

According to the governor, these new strategies build on existing efforts that are already producing positive results. He emphasized that intelligence remains a critical factor in countering criminal elements and expressed confidence that the enhanced initiatives will enable the state to tackle banditry more decisively.

Governor Aliyu stated: “As a government, we are ready to do all it takes to ensure that banditry becomes history in Sokoto State, but we cannot do it alone.”

He made a passionate appeal to residents to sustain their support by supplying timely and accurate information to security agencies, stressing that community cooperation is essential to success.
