President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the recent terrorist attacks in Maiduguri, describing the development as both tragic and disturbing.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the President mourned those who lost their lives and extended sympathy to the injured, while assuring residents of Borno State of the federal government’s continued support.
“The recent news from Maiduguri, Borno State, is profoundly upsetting. I mourn those who lost their lives, sympathise with the injured and stand in solidarity with the people of Borno during this challenging time,” he said.
sted that the attacks were signs of desperation by terrorist groups facing sustained military pressure across the country.
“I want to make it categorically clear that these acts of terror are the final desperate and frantic attempts by criminals and terrorist elements trying to instil and spread fear, as they are under constant pressure from our brave armed forces and security agencies operating in various theatres,” he stated.
He reassured Nigerians that security operations would be intensified nationwide.
“We will continue to intensify our efforts against all criminal elements, wherever they may be.”
