President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised ongoing infrastructure development in Bayelsa State, describing key projects in the state as critical investments that will enhance connectivity, economic opportunity, and public confidence in Nigeria’s future.
The President made the remarks in a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle following his visit to Bayelsa State, where he assessed major infrastructure projects executed by the state government.
“Standing in Bayelsa today, what I saw was more than infrastructure,” Tinubu wrote.
Highlighting specific projects, the President emphasised their broader socio-economic significance.
“The New Yenagoa City Road 1 is about access. The Angiama–Oporoma Bridge is about connection. The Bayelsa Independent Power Project is about opportunity,” he stated.
Tinubu noted that governance at all levels must remain focused on initiatives that directly improve the lives of citizens, adding that the Federal Government remains committed to working with states prioritising people-centred development.
“At every level, government must stay focused on what works for people and our administration will continue to collaborate with states serious about putting people first,” he said.
According to the President, such collaborative efforts go beyond physical infrastructure and contribute to strengthening national confidence and unity.
“When we do this, we are not just building projects. We are building confidence in our future as a people and as a nation,” Tinubu added.
The President also commended Bayelsa State Governor, Duoye Diri, for prioritising development initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
“I must commend Governor Duoye Diri for putting the people first. Thank you, Bayelsa,” Tinubu said.
Expressing optimism about the country’s prospects, the President concluded his remarks with a message of hope.
“Nigeria will surely succeed.”
President Tinubu’s visit to Bayelsa comes amid ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to deepen collaboration with subnational governments on infrastructure development, power generation, and economic growth initiatives across the country.
