Tottenham Hotspur sack coach, Thomas Frank, over poor performance

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked head coach Thomas Frank, the club confirmed in an official statement on their X account on Tuesday, following a string of poor results in the Premier League.

The Danish coach, who joined Spurs in June 2025, saw his side struggle to maintain form, winning just two of their last 17 league matches.

The team’s 2‑1 defeat to Newcastle United over the weekend left Spurs hovering just five points above the relegation zone, a position that reportedly prompted swift action from the club’s board.

Tottenham in it’s post, said: “The board has supported Thomas since his appointment, but given recent performances and results, a change in leadership was deemed necessary.”

Despite some positive moments in cup competitions, domestic struggles ultimately overshadowed Frank’s tenure.

Fans had expressed growing frustration over the team’s inconsistency, and the board’s decision reflects a need to stabilize the club during a challenging mid-season run.

Respected football journalist, Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the development on his X account, providing context on Frank’s tenure at Spurs.

Under his leadership, the team played 38 games across competitions, recording 13 wins, 11 draws, and 14 losses.

The club is reportedly evaluating replacement options as they seek to turn their league campaign around.

Names like Roberto De Zerbi have already been linked with the job, though nothing has been finalized.

Tottenham fans will now be watching closely to see who steps in to try and rescue the season and restore confidence at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
