Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have rescued 27 kidnapped victims, including a six-month-old baby, in Katsina State.
The troops also neutralised terrorists during separate operations in Sokoto State.
The Nigerian Army disclosed this in a post on its social media page on Friday.
The army said soldiers of the 17 Brigade rescued 15 men and 12 women after a gun battle with suspected terrorists in Sabuwa Local Government Area on October 16.
It said the operation followed a distress call from residents of Gamji community.
The troops chased the kidnappers towards Kamba Village, forcing them to abandon their captives and flee.
The rescued victims were later handed over to the Village Head of Gamji, Alhaji Falalu Suleiman.
The army added that no soldier was killed or injured during the rescue mission.
In a separate operation in Sokoto State, troops engaged terrorists at Waria Forest and Sarma Village on October 15.
The army said several terrorists were neutralised during the encounters.
Troops also recovered four AK-47 rifles, four magazines, 23 rounds of ammunition, eight motorcycles and a communication device.
The Nigerian Army said the operations are part of ongoing efforts to restore peace and improve security in the North-West.
