The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its readiness to reclaim Osun State following a high-powered meeting of the APC National Campaign Council for the Osun State Governorship Election, held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Kano State Governor’s Lodge, Abuja, Nigeria.
The strategic meeting, which commenced at 3:00 p.m., brought together the party’s national leadership, campaign council members and key stakeholders to review preparations, strengthen campaign structures and coordinate the final push towards victory in the forthcoming governorship election.
The atmosphere was one of unity, confidence and determination as leaders held extensive deliberations on mobilisation, voter outreach, media engagement, election-day logistics, grassroots coordination and strategic messaging.
At the end of the meeting, various sub-committees were directed to commence work immediately, with clear timelines and responsibilities aimed at delivering an efficient, disciplined and winning campaign across the length and breadth of Osun State.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, while the Council Secretary, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, CFR, PhD, FCNA, Deputy President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, coordinated proceedings. Also in attendance were Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on Finance; Prince Ade Omole, Chairman of the Nigeria Diaspora Voting Council and Renewed Hope Global Advocate; Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs; Hon. Zainab Ibrahim, APC Deputy National Woman Leader; Dr. Kayode Opeifa, Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation; Dr Dayo Israel, APC National Youth Leader and other members of the APC National Working Committee, serving and former governors, ministers, members of the National Assembly, campaign council members, youth and women leaders, as well as other senior party stakeholders drawn from across the federation.
Speakers at the meeting expressed confidence that the APC remains the preferred choice of the people of Osun State, citing the party’s record of purposeful leadership, progressive policies and commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians. They emphasised that the forthcoming election presents another opportunity for the people of Osun to align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and benefit from the developmental initiatives being implemented at the federal level.
The meeting also reiterated the importance of unity, discipline and collective responsibility, with leaders urging party members to remain focused, avoid distractions and work together towards a common objective. They stressed that every stakeholder, from the national leadership to grassroots mobilisers, has a critical role to play in ensuring victory at the polls.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants unanimously expressed optimism about the party’s prospects and pledged to leave no stone unturned in delivering a decisive victory for the APC. With its campaign structures now fully activated and sub-committees already commencing implementation of agreed action plans, the party declared itself battle-ready for the Osun Governorship Election.
The strategy session ended with a strong message of unity and resolve: the APC is united, organised and determined to reclaim Osun State, reinforcing its position as Nigeria’s leading progressive political movement.
