Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has assured that he won’t compromise with the blood of innocent Benue people being murdered by ruthless herders.
His Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, clarified the Governor’s stance on insecurity, citing attacks from foreign terrorist herders and local bandits.
Kula explained that Governor Alia’s assertion about politicians shielding and motivating local outlaws isn’t baseless. “Benue grapples with attacks from foreign terrorist herders and local bandits, particularly in Sankera, who are often motivated by certain politicians in Abuja,” Kula stated.
The Governor’s declaration that attackers are foreigners has been validated by the Defence Headquarters. Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, confirmed that intelligence revealed many attackers are non-Nigerians.
Kula appealed for calm, assuring that the Judicial Commission of Inquiry’s report would reveal findings. “The Governor is privy to intelligence and preliminary reports, which will soon be made public,” he said.
“We can’t trade with the blood of innocent people. We’ll continue to defend and care for Benue people,” Governor Alia’s stance reflects his commitment to the state’s security and well-being.
