Why I Withdrew Court Case Against Natasha — Akpabio Explains After New Year Homily

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio says he has decided to withdraw all court cases he had instituted against those who made allegations against him after listening to today’s New Year Sermon.

Akpabio who stayed this at the Sacred Heart Parish in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital said he felt touched by the sermon which dwelt on letting go of the painful past for peace to reign.

Among many cases that the President of the Senate had instituted include a case of alleged defamation against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan at a Federal High Court in Abuja.

According to Akpabio, “after listening to today’s New Year Homily, at the Sacred Heart Parish in Uyo, which dwelt on Letting Go of the painful past for peace to reign, I have decided to forgive all of them.

” I listened to the priest and suddenly realised he was talking to me.

“I there and then, directed my solicitors to withdraw all lawsuits against them.

“I had almost nine cases in court against some individuals who defamed me, who lied against me and who slandered my name, ” he said.
