The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that he paid a courtesy visit to the Amanyanabo of Torusarama Piri in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo.

Wike disclosed the visit on Wednesday through a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, @GovWike, a day after the meeting took place.

According to the minister, the visit was a friendly one, underscoring his long-standing personal relationship with the traditional ruler and former Niger Delta agitator.

In his post, Wike wrote:

> “Yesterday too, I visited my friend, the Amanyanabo of Torusarama Piri, in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, Asari Dokubo, in his palace.”

The FCT minister further disclosed that Asari Dokubo used the occasion to reaffirm his political stance ahead of the next general election, particularly regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Wike stated that the traditional ruler assured him of his commitment to back President Tinubu’s re-election bid, describing it as an expression of gratitude for the support he received from the President during a difficult period in his life.

“He assured that he will support the reelection of Mr President as a pay back for what the President did for him in stood his time of need,” Wike added.

The visit has continued to generate political reactions, especially within Rivers State and the wider Niger Delta, given the influence of both Wike and Asari Dokubo in the region’s political landscape.
