Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a woman accused of allegedly stabbing her boyfriend and severing his manhood during a violent altercation in the Badawa area of Kano.
The incident was disclosed by the Command in a statement shared on its official X handle, @KanoPoliceNG, on Monday.
According to the police, the suspect is currently in custody while detectives continue investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The victim, whose identity was not disclosed, reportedly sustained serious injuries after the attack and was rushed to a medical facility, where he is receiving treatment.
The Command said preliminary findings indicate that the altercation between the couple turned violent, leading to the alleged stabbing and the severing of the victim’s genitals.
The police assured members of the public that a thorough investigation is underway and that anyone found culpable will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The statement read: “The Kano State Police Command has arrested a female suspect for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend and completely cutting off his manhood during a violent altercation in Badawa. The victim is receiving medical treatment, while investigations are ongoing.”
The Command urged residents to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information while the investigation continues.
Police also reiterated their commitment to ensuring justice in the case and maintaining law and order across the state.
