Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has commended troops of the Nigerian military, members of the Civilian Joint Taskforce ( CJTF ) , hunters and vigilantes over the recent Killing of top Islamic State of West African Province ( ISWAP) commander, Abu Fatima and two others in Aleru village of Kukawa local government area of the State.
Governor Zulum made the commendation on Tuesday during his familiarisation visit to some communities in northern part of the state, especially in Kukawa Local Government Area.
He said he visited military formations in Baga, Kukawa and Cross Kauwa to see the troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the CJTF, hunters and vigilantes to motivate them, listen to them and see how challenges in the areas could be solved.
The governor said, “As part of my familiarisation tour to local government areas, I decided to move to some of the local government areas in northern part of the State, especially Kukawa.
” I went there to see the troops of the armed forces, the CJTF, hunters and vigilantes to motivate them and see how we can solve our problems. Recently, troops have done very well. You can remember that one of the senior ISWAP member and his two fighters were killed.
” Although recently , we lost some of our men ,but the troops have done very well. We were there to commiserate with them and most importantly, to strengthen their resilience. We have listened to them. I went to Kukawa, Baga and Cross Kauwa,” Zulum said.
