Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum on Thursday night paid an unscheduled sympathy visit to victims of the recent bomb blasts receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) and the State Specialist Hospital (General Hospital) Maiduguri immediately in his arrival to Maiduguri from Saudia Arabia Kingdom for smaller Hajjo (Umrah).
During the visit, Governor Zulum expressed deep sympathy to the injured victims and their families, describing the incident as tragic and unfortunate.
He moved round the wards, interacting personally with patients, offering words of encouragement, and praying for their speedy recovery.
The governor reassured the victims of the state government’s unwavering support, including the provision of comprehensive medical care and other necessary assistance to aid their recovery process.
He emphasized that no effort would be spared in ensuring that those affected receive the best possible treatment.
Zulum also commended healthcare workers at both facilities for their swift response and dedication in attending to the victims while noting that their professionalism and commitment were critical in managing the emergency situation.
Condemning the attack, the Governor reiterated his administration’s resolve to safeguard lives and property across Borno State.
He stressed the need to further strengthen emergency response mechanisms and healthcare services, particularly in the face of ongoing security challenges.
The governor also called on residents to remained vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could help prevent similar incidents in the future.
