2027 Election: Adeleke Launches Tinubu Campaign Council in Osun, Promises Over 1.5 Million Votes

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has inaugurated the Osun State Presidential Campaign Council for the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the January 2027 presidential election, declaring that the coalition supporting the President is determined to deliver more than the 1.5 million votes earlier pledged.

The governor made the announcement in a post shared on his verified X account on Friday, where he said the campaign council reflects a renewed commitment to mobilise voters across the state in support of President Tinubu.

Adeleke said the alliance backing the President is made up of members of the Accord Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing it as a “rainbow coalition” formed solely for the presidential election.

He, however, clarified that the political partnership would not affect other elections, insisting that his support for Accord Party candidates seeking seats in the National Assembly and the Osun State House of Assembly remains unchanged.

“Yesterday, I inaugurated the Osun State Presidential Campaign Council for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with a renewed commitment to deliver more than the 1.5 million votes we earlier promised,” Adeleke wrote.

He added: “Our rainbow coalition of Accord, APC and PDP is united solely for President Tinubu’s re-election in the January 2027 presidential election. This partnership does not extend to the legislative elections. My support for all Accord candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly remains unshaken.”

The governor also addressed the lingering crisis over local government administration in Osun State, saying discussions aimed at resolving the dispute had reached an advanced stage.

According to him, the Federal Government has given assurances that the issue will soon be resolved.

“On the Osun local government crisis, negotiations are at an advanced stage. I have received the assurance of the Federal Government, and there will be positive developments soon,” he said.

Calling for political unity, Adeleke urged residents and political stakeholders to set aside their differences and work together for what he described as the state’s future prosperity.

“These are critical times that demand unity beyond political differences. From the pain of the past, we must unite for the prosperity of the future. Together, let us mobilise and deliver Osun for President Tinubu,” the governor stated.
