2027: Wike Urges Fubara’s Supporters To Back Tinubu for More Appointments, Projects

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has urged Rivers State residents to support President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid ahead of the 2027 elections.

Wike spoke on Monday during a meeting with supporters of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Fubara-aligned youth leaders in Port Harcourt.

He said voting massively for Tinubu would bring more political appointments, federal projects and development to Rivers State.

According to him, politics is about making decisions that will bring the greatest benefits to the people.

Wike said Rivers had already received many important federal appointments under Tinubu’s administration and could get more with stronger support.

He also pointed to projects such as the Bonny Road as proof of the President’s commitment to the state.

The former Rivers governor called on party members and youths to forgive past differences and work together for the future.

He said reconciliation efforts were ongoing to ensure every genuine member of the political family was carried along.

Wike added that he was no longer seeking to become governor but wanted Rivers State to remain influential in national politics.

Speaking on behalf of Fubara’s supporters, former Port Harcourt Mayor Ezebunwo Ichemati pledged the group’s support for Tinubu and the Rainbow Coalition.

Ichemati described the meeting as a major step towards reconciliation between the Wike and Fubara camps ahead of the 2027 elections.

He expressed confidence that the reunited political family would work together to deliver victory for Tinubu and other coalition candidates.
