Suspected bandits have abducted six residents of Nurul Siraj Estate in Millennium City, Kaduna State, during a midnight attack.
The raid reportedly took place between 12:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. after the attackers entered the estate through its second gate.
A source told newsmen that the victims included both men and women.
The source appealed to security agencies to strengthen surveillance in the area and prevent further attacks.
The source also called for prayers for the safe return of the abducted residents.
Meanwhile, another account circulating on social media claimed that a family of four and two neighbours were kidnapped during the attack.
The report alleged that about 10 armed men stormed a house in search of a woman but abducted other residents after failing to find her.
There were also unconfirmed reports that troops exchanged gunfire with the attackers before they escaped with some of the victims.
However, the exact number of abducted residents and the reported gun battle could not be independently verified.
