Former Director, Defence Media Operation, Major-General Bernard Onyeuko (rtd), has passed on.
His colleague said Onyeuko died on Saturday morning after complaining of cold and was rushed to a private hospital where he died.
General Onyeuko retired from the Nigerian Army in July this year as Director Procurement at the Defence Headquarters following the appointment of new service chiefs .
Another close friend to the deceased said that the retired general was hale and hearty on Friday until he fell ill on Saturday morning and passed on.
Official statement about his death is yet to be issued either by the family or the military.
