The media office of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has denied reports that he asked Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC). It described the viral claim as false, misleading and politically motivated.
The office said the report was created by manipulating an old audio recording to cause misunderstanding between Adelabu, President Bola Tinubu and the APC leadership.
It explained that the video was taken from a 2022 interview when Adelabu contested the Oyo State governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party.
According to the statement, Adelabu only advised voters to consider the character and credibility of candidates instead of focusing only on political parties.
It stressed that he never called on Nigerians to reject the APC or oppose President Tinubu’s administration.
The media office challenged those circulating the video to release the full interview instead of edited clips taken out of context.
It also said Adelabu has consistently remained loyal to the APC despite raising concerns about fairness and transparency within the party.
The statement added that Adelabu enjoys a longstanding relationship with President Tinubu built on mutual respect and trust.
It urged Nigerians and journalists to verify information before sharing it, insisting that Adelabu remains committed to the APC and its goals.
