Federal Government has extended Easter greetings to Christians across Nigeria and in the diaspora, urging citizens to embrace the values of unity, hope, and sacrifice as the country continues its journey toward national development.

In a goodwill message released on Friday, the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said the Easter season presents an opportunity for Nigerians to renew their faith and strengthen national cohesion.

“I join all our Christian brothers and sisters in embracing Easter’s message of hope, renewal, and sacrifice,” the minister stated.

He noted that the Easter celebration symbolizes resilience and the triumph of faith over challenges, adding that Nigerians should draw inspiration from the season to foster peaceful coexistence and national unity.

“This season reminds us of the power of faith to overcome adversity, and of the promise of new beginnings,” Idris added.

The minister further expressed optimism that the Easter celebration would deepen the spirit of togetherness among Nigerians, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.

“May it strengthen the bonds of unity that hold us together as one nation, and inspire us to continue building a Nigeria where peace, tolerance and goodwill prevail,” he said.

He also extended warm greetings to Nigerians celebrating Easter both within the country and abroad.

“Happy Easter to all celebrating, at home and abroad.”

The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to promoting national unity, peace, and tolerance, urging citizens to use the Easter period to reflect on shared values and contribute to building a more harmonious Nigeria.
