I’ll not constitute a caretaker committee for LGAs – Gov. Radda

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has said that his administration will not constitute any caretaker committee of local governments at the expiration of their tenure in March 2026.

Governor Radda said this during the swearing in of Alhaji Kabir Abdulsalam-Shema, as the transition committee Chairman of Dutsin Ma Local Government Area (LGA).

The governor further assured the general public that the local government elections would be held for new council chairmen once their tenure ends.

He added that the appointment of the transition chairman was prompted by the affirmation of the former chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Namadi, as the state’s secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Congratulating the new transition chairman for the well deserved appointment, Radda urged him to remain committed to the discharge of the new task.

He, however, enjoined stakeholders in the area to support the new chairman with prayers and advice on how best to reposition the local government.

Radda observed that Dutsin Ma LGA was blessed with committed and trustworthy personalities, now in various positions of leadership.

“They include the state head of civil service, Alhaji Usman Isiyaku, the commissioner for finance, Alhaji Bishir Tanimu Gambo and so many others,” he said. (NAN)
