Monaco have offered to terminate Paul Pogba’s after the French midfielder suffered another injury setback, putting his already troubled comeback in serious doubt.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Monaco want to reach a mutual agreement with Pogba and his camp by September 1, allowing the 33-year-old to leave the club and search for another team before the transfer window closes.
Pogba suffered a fresh injury on Tuesday, just as he was trying to build up his fitness ahead of the new season.
The latest setback threatens to derail another attempt by the 2018 World Cup winner to rebuild his career.
Pogba joined Monaco in 2025 after his contract with Juventus was terminated and following an 18-month doping ban. His return, however, has been repeatedly interrupted by injuries, limiting his chances to establish himself again at the top level.
Now, barely a year into his Monaco spell, he could be searching for another club once again.
The final decision rests with Pogba and his representatives, but if both sides agree to end the deal, the former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder will become a free agent.
