The feud between former PSquare brothers, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, and Paul Okoye, better known as Rudeboy, has spilled onto social media again following Mr P’s controversial “Who Naija language help?” comment.
Mr P’s remark sparked criticism from many Nigerians, with some accusing him of looking down on indigenous languages and culture.
As the reactions continued, Rudeboy posted a message on X that many believed was aimed at his twin.
“I’m a ‘nobody’ I repeat!! a nobody!! without the culture, native, language, the pride, of a Nigerian. 🫡🇳🇬 100% proudly Nigerian 🇳🇬 100% proudly Igbo 🫡”
Although he did not mention Mr P by name, the post quickly got people talking, with many linking it to the controversy surrounding his brother.
Mr P later responded in a lengthy statement, apologising to those offended by his comments while insisting he never attacked the Igbo language or culture.
“If my response to ‘Who Naija language help?’ upset some people, I apologize and take full responsibility for my words. That doesn’t mean I hate Nigerian languages or our culture,” he wrote.
He explained that the controversy started after he made an innocent post about his children speaking French, adding that his words had been misrepresented.
“At no point did I say I hate the Igbo language or Igbo culture. I said ‘Naija language,’ referring to the different languages in Nigeria, but some individuals twisted it and made it seem like I specifically mentioned Igbo. I didn’t.”
Mr P also accused his brother of using the situation to score points against him.
“But again, bro, you’re at it again, using this moment as another opportunity to pull me down. Just like I wrote in my open letter two years ago, doing everything possible to make people hate me will never work,” he said.
He ended the statement by saying he would no longer ignore such actions.
“At this point, I think it’s only fair I start giving the same energy I receive. No more Mr. Nice Guy. It’s aura for aura, Egusi for Egusi, Oha for Oha.”
The latest exchange comes at a time when both brothers have been making separate media appearances, with the question of a possible PSquare reunion coming up repeatedly.
In one of the interviews now circulating online, Rudeboy was asked if he missed performing with Mr P. Rather than answer, he smiled and simply said, “Next question.”
Even after years apart, many fans still hope the brothers will one day settle their differences and reunite as PSquare.
While the reunion talks continue, both artistes have stayed busy with their solo careers. Mr P’s latest song, I Can’t Look Away, has gained attention online, with fans creating dance videos and sharing clips across social media. Rudeboy recently teamed up with Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie on Blessed & Alive, whose official music video crossed three million views on YouTube just days after its release.
For now, though, the latest exchange suggests the relationship between the twin brothers remains as strained as ever, leaving fans with little reason to believe a reunion is around the corner.
