Controversial singer Portable and Nollywood actor Charles Okocha are set to renew their rivalry when they face off in a celebrity boxing rematch on Friday, July 31.
The bout, tagged: _”Unfinished Business,”_ will take place at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, months after their first encounter ended with Portable emerging victorious. Okocha, however, has never accepted the outcome and has repeatedly demanded another shot at his rival.
The rematch comes at a crucial time for Portable, who is aiming to bounce back after losing his celebrity boxing title to Carter Efe in his last outing.
With just days to the showdown, both men turned a recent appearance on TVC News into another battleground as tempers flared during a live discussion about the fight.
The atmosphere became increasingly tense as they traded insults and repeatedly talked over one another, forcing those in the studio to calm the situation before it escalated.
At one point, Portable claimed he had revived Okocha’s career, taunting the actor in Pidgin, “Your career wey don die?” suggesting the actor’s career had faded before their rivalry.
A visibly irritated Okocha immediately fired back, saying, “Don’t disrespect me,” before repeatedly reminding Portable that the real contest would take place inside the ring.
“I’m not your mate,” Okocha said several times as Portable responded with his trademark Yoruba taunts and chants.
Trying to keep the confrontation from boiling over inside the studio, Okocha repeatedly challenged the singer to save his energy for fight night.
“Can you keep this up on the 31st?” he asked, insisting their scores would be settled when they finally step into the ring.
The heated television exchange has only added to the growing anticipation surrounding the contest, with fans expecting another dramatic encounter between the two entertainers.
