The National Judicial Council (NJC), has recommended for appointments 23 new judges for Federal High Court including Ariwoola Olukayode Jnr the son of Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
Others are Ekerete Udofot Akpan,
Hussaini Dadan-Garba,Egbe Raphael Joshua, Anyalewa Onoja-Alapa,Aishatu Auta Ibrahim the daughter of former Chief Judge Federal High Court, Ogazi Friday Nkemakonam, Ogundare Kehinde Olayiwola,Onah Chigozie Sergius,
Hauwa Buhari ,Ibrahim Ahmad Kala,
Hauwa Joeph Yilwa, Amina Aliyu Mohammed, Sharon Tanko Ishaya,
Chituru Joy Wigwe-Oreh,Musa Kakaki.
The rest are Owoeye Alexander Oluseyi,
Abiodun Jordan Adeyemi, Agbaje Olufunmilola Adetutu, Salim Olasupo Ibrahim, Dipeolu Deinde Isaac, Abdullahi Muhammad Dan-Ige and Mashkur Salisu.
National Judicial Council made the recommendation to the President Bolla Tinubu at its 103rd meeting presided over by Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON, at the end of deliberation after it considered the list of candidates presented by its Interview Committee.
The council also recommended Kadi Muhammad Aminu Danjuma to Kaduna State governor for appointment as Grand Kadi, Kaduna State.
Others recommended are Muhammad Adam Kadem,Salisu Muhammad Isa ,Isa Idris Sa’id and Aliyu Muhammad Kani to Kano State governor for appointments as Kadis , Sharia Court of Appeal Kano State.
A statement posted in twitter handle of Soji Oye Esq. Director, Information NJC said all recommended candidates are expected to be sworn-in after the approval of the NJC recommendations to the President and their respective State Governors and or confirmation by their State Houses of Assembly, as the case may be.
