“No Winners Have Emerged Yet,” NDC Warns Nigerians Against Fake Primary Results

Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed reports circulating online claiming that winners have already emerged from its party primaries, describing the information as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the party clarified that its primaries are scheduled to hold on May 29, 2026, stressing that no official results could exist before the exercise takes place.

“The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) wishes to inform the general public that our party primaries are scheduled to hold tomorrow, 29th May 2026,” the statement read.

The party said it was “impossible and illogical for any primary results or winners to have emerged when the primaries are yet to take place.”

Reacting to the viral claims, the NDC urged Nigerians and party supporters to ignore all unofficial reports regarding the outcome of the primaries.

“We strongly urge the public and all well-meaning Nigerians to completely disregard the fake NDC primary results and false rumours currently circulating,” the party stated.

It further warned that “any result that does not emanate from official party sources should be disregarded.”

The party reaffirmed its commitment to conducting what it described as a transparent and credible primary election process.

“NDC remains committed to a transparent and credible primary process. We appeal to all our supporters and registered members to stay vigilant and ignore any unverified information,” the statement added.

The statement was signed by Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, National Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

The clarification comes amid growing political activities and heightened public interest ahead of the 2027 election cycle, with several parties preparing for internal primaries and candidate selections.
