Renewed Hope Initiative will continue to make Nigerians happy – First Lady

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu

The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has promised to continue using the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) to make Nigerians happy.

Tinubu gave the assurance at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday while receiving new executive members of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) led by its president, Mrs Edna Azura.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the former President of NCWS, Hajia Lami Lau, had died in 2024, a development which brought in Azura as her successor.

Tinubu, who expressed sadness over the death of Lau, said she was confident the new executives would build on the good legacies she left behind.

She advised the executives to impact positively on the younger generation while working closely with the people at the grassroots.

Tinubu said she was determined to build families, describing this as the best legacy one could leave behind.

According to her, RHI has its own mandate which includes interventions in agriculture, education, health, economic empowerment and social investment.

She urged the group to seek support in the areas of RHI mandate by partnering with its State Coordinators and other government agencies.

Earlier, Azura and other members of the NCWS had commended Tinubu for her leadership role as well as for impacting lives across the country.

NAN reports that other members in the delegation were the Assistant Secretary, Mrs Halima Kayari; Financial Secretary, Mrs Oluwakemi Opebi and Public Relations Officer, Mrs Comfort Hauwa.

NCWS was formally inaugurated in 1959 as an organisation for women in the country.(NAN)
