Suspect Arrested For Beheading Female Farmer In Kogi State Community

Aman identified as Sunday Ugbada of Ogoh Okpo in Olamaboro Local Government area of Kogi State has been arrested by the Police Command in the state for allegedly beheading a woman.

The deceased whose identity was not revealed was said to have been killed on her farm in Ogene Iga village.

Residents said that when the woman did not return from the farm she went to on Sunday, a search party was organised on Monday during which her lifeless body was found while her head had been severed off her body.

A resident identified as Sylvester Adaji, was quoted by newsmen as saying, “We saw her corpse in an isolated place on her farm. To our surprise, her head was cut off and taken away by her assailants. We could only recognise her by her wares. It was a gory sight and a taboo on our land.”

Confirming the incident and the arrest of the suspect, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, said that the victim’s mobile phone was also recovered from the suspect upon his arrest.

“One Sunday Ugbada of Ogoh Okpo was arrested in connection with the crime. One Itel phone belonging to the victim was recovered from the suspect,” the police spokesperson said.
