Tinubu Backs UAE, Saudi Arabia, Condemns Attacks on Civilian Infrastructure Amid Rising Middle East Tensions

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to global peace and expressed strong solidarity with countries in the Gulf region following recent attacks linked to the escalating tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

In a statement on Thursday, Tinubu stressed Nigeria’s longstanding position as a supporter of international stability and cooperation, noting that the country stands firmly with its allies during moments of crisis.

“Nigeria is for global peace and stability and for its friends and partners anywhere,” the President stated.

Tinubu specifically voiced concern over reported attacks targeting civilian and economic infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates, describing the development as troubling and deserving of global attention.

“I am particularly concerned by the attacks on UAE’s civilian and economic infrastructure. I reaffirm my support and solidarity to the President of UAE and the measures he took to safeguard civilian populations and critical infrastructure,” he said.

The Nigerian leader also extended Nigeria’s support to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf nations affected by the fallout of the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

Tinubu’s remarks come amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with concerns growing over the potential impact on global security, economic stability, and energy markets.

Reiterating Nigeria’s diplomatic stance, the President called for restraint and renewed commitment to peaceful dialogue among the parties involved, emphasizing that lasting peace remains the only viable path forward.
