Tinubu celebrates elder statesman, Alhaji Ashafa Erogbogbo, on his 100th birthday

President Bola Tinubu has extended his warm greetings to Alhaji Ashafa Ajibola Erogbogbo, an elder statesman and retired aviation supervisor at Shell Company Nigeria Limited, as he marks his centenary on May 28.

President Tinubu in a statement by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, joins the family to give glory to God for for Alhaji Ashafa Erogbogbo century long journey and contributions to national development.

“Reaching 100 years is a remarkable milestone, a rare blessing, and a reward for a life of discipline, dedication, integrity, and selfless service to humanity and the nation”, he said.

The President listed the areas of his service to the nation, “your service years at Government Printing Press, Nigeria Customs and Excise and later Shell Company Nigeria Limited. In all the places where you worked, you demonstrated professionalism, diligence, and a commitment to excellence.

“Your role as a respected community leader in Ikorodu, Lagos State, and mentor is widely acknowledged. Your wisdom, counsel, and exemplary lifestyle continue to inspire younger generations.

“It is noteworthy that you, the father of Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), remain sharp of mind and warm of spirit at this advanced age.”

President Tinubu while wishing to read Ashafa Erogbogbo’s book “Echoes of Grace: The Journey of a Century,” published to mark his birthday notes that he rejoices with him, the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in the extraordinary milestone.

“As you celebrate this milestone, I pray that Almighty Allah will continue to sustain you with good health, peace, strength, and happiness.” He said.
