Former governor of Kogi, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has commiserated with Gov. Ahmed Ododo over the death of his father.

The governor’s father died on Monday night at the age of 83 years.

Bello in a condolence message on Tuesday in Lokoja, paid glowing tribute the late Ododo, describing him as a moral compass, wise guide, and a stabilising force.

He said that the deceased played a significant role in shaping Gov. Ododo’s character and leadership.

“The late Alhaji Ododo’s quiet sacrifices, unassuming wisdom, and dedication to family and community values are reflected in Gov. Ododo’s integrity, humility, and commitment to serving the people of Kogi,” he said

Bello urged the governor to take solace in the fact that his father’s spirit lives on through him and to continue honoring him by leading with responsibility, dignity, and compassion.

He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive late Ododo’s shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.

He also prayed God to strengthen the Ododo family and grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

Bello assured the governor of his continuous prayers and support during the difficult time.
