Mr. Onyanta Arinze Gideon, APC Chieftain, Resigns in Amokwe Ward, Enugu State, Cites Personal Reflection

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, Mr. Onyanta Arinze Gideon, has formally resigned his membership of the party, bringing an end to his involvement in APC.

In a letter dated April 20, 2026, and addressed to the APC Chairman of Amokwe Ward in Udi Local Government Area, Gideon announced that his resignation takes immediate effect. He stated that his decision followed “a deep introspection,” describing it as difficult given the unity and relationships built within the ward.

“I have withdrawn my membership from the APC and therefore cease to be a member of the party,” the letter read in part.

Gideon expressed appreciation to party members and stakeholders in Amokwe Ward, acknowledging their collective efforts in building the party’s presence and influence in the area. He noted that their contributions had made both the ward and the party an “enviable example” within Enugu State.

He further described his time in the party as a privilege, highlighting the dedication and resilience of members in the ward. “It was a rare privilege for me to have worked with you all and to witness the selfless and indomitable spirit of the Amokwe people,” he added.

While the letter did not specify any political grievances or future plans, his exit adds to the evolving political dynamics within the state, especially at the grassroots level where party structures play a critical role in mobilization and local influence.
